A three card spread is a favorite in basic Life Wisdom Matrix tarot spreads. In most cases, a reading with three cards is used to signify Past, Present, and Future. Once the person has focused on a question and they have chosen their cards, they will look to the cards to tell them about their question in each of these time periods. In the past, for example, the card will point out anything they might have experienced in regards to their issue. In doing this, the issue at hand is extended beyond the present time which can help to create a more concrete direction for the question at hand.
